THE BOB YOUNG PHOTOGRAPH COLLECTION

On this page are three photographs kindly provided by Bob Young.

No.6155

This is 6100 class 2-6-2T No.6155 standing in one of the centre roads at Worcester Shrub Hill Station. The locomotive is in excellent condition and judging by the leading carriage it is at the head of afternoon 'School train' from Worcester Foregate Street to Ledbury. One of the really annoying things about the 'School train' was that it stood in Shrub Hill Station for a long time prior to departing empty stock for Worcester but as it did not stand at a platform road nobody could get on. Although the date is unknown it is likely to be 1963 or 1964.

No.6877

'Grange' class 4-6-0 No.6877 'Llanfair Grange' is another engine that spent all its working life at Worcester being seen here near Abbotswood Junction (date unknown).

No.7005

One of the favourite locomotives on this site and well represented with photographs is this one of Worcester shed's 4-6-0 'Castle' class express passenger locomotive No.7005 'Sir Edward Elgar' on a 'down' London service. The photograph was taken from the bridge at Pinvin looking down into Pershore Station. No.7005 was only ever allocated to Worcester and so there are no clues as to the date.
