BROMSGROVE

This page contains photographs taken from a bridge situated just south of Bromsgrove Station. It is alongside the former Garringtons works, the site of which has been used for housing. The bridge can be accessed from Bridge Road.

31180 at Bromsgrove

37219 & 37241 at Bromsgrove

In bright sunshine in May 1984 a pair of Class 37 diesel locomotives Nos.37219 & 37241 wait at the locomotive stabling point to the south of the station.

66058 at Bromsgrove

Banking locomotive Class 66 No.66058 is seen assisting No.66162 through Bromsgrove Station. This is one of a number of locomotives of this class that have been modified for Lickey banking duties. Photograph taken by Andrew Smith on 24th September 2007.

Pointwork at Bromsgrove

This is a view to the south of Bromsgrove station and it shows the pointwork that enables trains to access the 'up' loop from either direction. Photograph taken by Andrew Smith on 24th September 2007.

Bromsgrove old stabling point

This is the remains of the former stabling point to the south of Bromsgrove Station with a new housing estate being built behind it and fond reminders of days gone past on the building. The concrete base dates from the days of steam traction when it had a shelter built on to it. The line running behind the base was formerly used for coal wagons.
