On Sunday 17th January 2021 Jack Summerfield managed to visit Malvern Link during his daily exercise. As it happened fortune worked on his side as he was able to photograph two-car class 170 diesel multiple unit No.170514 in West Midland Trains livery passing IET No.800011.

On Sunday 24th January 2021 Malvern experienced its heaviest snowfall for many years.  Two days later there was still plenty of lying snow at Great Malvern Station as can be seen in this photograph, taken by Andrew Smith, of class 170 two-car diesel multiple units Nos.170505 and 170506 departing for Hereford with the 09.32 from Worcester Foregate Street. This service (train code No.1V23) normally starts at Birmingham New Street. The reason for the partial cancellation of the service was given as signalling problems.

On 7th February 2021 class 802 set No.802020 made a brief visit to the county arriving with the 12.46 from London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street.  Steve Widdowon took this photogaph as it returned to London with the 15.15 train (code No.1P63). A good cause but an awful livery.
Several photographers struck lucky on their daily exercise on 22nd February 2021, during lockdown No.3, when they were fortunate to see "Biffa" (The Flying Dustbin), class 66 diesel locomotive No.66783 with a train of carriages for scrap. No.66749 was at the rear.  Robert Pritchard was at Tibberton whilst Steve Widdowson saw the train at Abbotswood. The train was code No.5Q51 0913 Gascoigne Wood Sidings to Sims at Newport Docks. The scrap Mark 3 carriages were Nos. 6393, 41077, 41061, 40749, 42151, 42164, 42165, 42153, 42121, 44054, 41061 and 6394.
Jack Summerfield's deft use of the telephoto lens produced this dramatic view of the New Measurement Train passing Newland East Signal Box on the February 16th 2021 led by Class 43 diesel locomotive No. 43062 'John Armitt' at the fron and No.43013 'Mark Carne CBE' at the rear.

Thursday 10th of June provided a rare sight of a pair of class 37 diesel locomotives Nos.37667 and 37521 with the Branch Line Society's Malvern Mountaineer railtour. Jack Summerfield photographed the train passing the station at Malvern Link.
Jack Summerfield was on the lineside on Sunday 13th June 2021 which proved to be a good day to view activity at Abbotswood Junction.  The photograph (above left) shows a pair of class 43 "High Speed Train" power cars Nos.43055 and 43046 with The Blue Pullman en route for Bristol to Crewe (train code No.5Z16). Later (above right) Colas livery class 37 diesel locomotives (Nos.37057 and 37219 passed with a Derby to Cardiff train.

On 17th September 2021 preserved class 52 diesel No.D1015 "Western Champion" worked back from Gloucester to Kidderminster (SVR) via Worcester Shrub Hill where it was photographed by Steve Widdowson.   Earlier it had been used to bring a cement train to Gloucester as part of an assessment for main line running.
