The name of Jim Clemens is best known through the outstanding collection of cine film that he made covering the last few years of steam working on the main line, but this 96 page colour album shows that he was equally at home with still photography. Although some of the earlier photos are black and white it is through the colour photographs that his art comes to the fore and this book will be of particular interest to anyone interested in Worcestershire and the wider region.
Unlike a lot of photographers of the 1960s railway scene Jim was not afraid to photograph the new diesel hydraulic locomotives, in particular the 'Hymeks' that replaced steam on passenger services.
This book is astounding and is highly recommended.
