Volume 2: Southern Central England
Michael Rhodes & Paul Shannon (Silver Link Publishing Ltd, 1988, ISBN: 0947971246)
This book covers railways in the whole of southern England up to and including the West Midlands.
There is a four page section on Gloucester and Worcester that starts on page 27. There is an interesting list of freight services that called at Gloucester Network Yard in January 1988 and some good quality black and white photographs including No.50010 at Spetchley, 45033 at Droitwich and a train being banked by a pair of class 37s on the Lickey Incline.
From page 145 there eight pages about Birmingham, Bescot and the Black Country including a photo of No.47599 at Longbridge.
A very interesting book that is certainly worth a mention and although long out of print is available on the second hand market.
