LOST LINES - BIRMINHAM & BLACK COUNTRY
Book Reviews
This book falls partly within and partly outside of Worcestershire but is nevertheless a worthwhile addition to the history of railways in the county.
There is a fascinating selection of black and white photographs to accompany the information text. Typical of these is a classic view at Birmingham Snow Hill showing Cardiff Canton based BR Standard 4-6-0 'Britannia class' No.70017 'Arrow' waiting with the 5.15pm to Cardiff via Hereford. There are pages covering the Halesowen Railway and railways in Dudley.
The book which was published in 2002 and was reprinted in 2006 is well worth seeking out.
