LONGBRIDGE JUNCTION

This junction at Longbridge had various names. When opened it was called Halesowen Junction and more recently Longbridge Junction.

Viewed from the railway bridge adjacent to the new Longbridge Station is the start of the joint G.W.R.& Midland Railway line to Halesowen. The tracks left the main line and curved away through the middle of the giant Longbridge car factory. The red brick hut occupied the site of a former signal box. This connection and the remaining part of the Halesowen Railway closed in 2005 and was removed.
