At Eckington the Birmingham and Gloucester Railway crosses the River Avon by means of this impressive bridge.
Class 47 locomotive No.47733 'Eastern Star' is seen crossing the River Avon bridge with train No.1S81 12:44 Plymouth to Shieldmuir parcels on 28th July 1999. This photograph by Adrian Booth was taken from the public footpath that is part of the Eckington Wharf Circular Walk.
This old postcard makes an interesting contrast to the view of the diesel shown above.

This Arriva Trains Wales class 150/2 two-car diesel multiple unit was photographed by Andrew Smith crossing the River Avon with the 14:51 First Great Western service from Great Malvern to Brighton. The unit had arrived at Great Malvern with 08:23 service from Southampton Central.
